Once again, the Worksop Christmas Tree Festival will take place within the walls of the magnificent 12th century Priory Church of our Lady and St Cuthbert, Priorswell Road, Worksop S80 2BW. This year the organisers are hoping for in excess of 50 trees, entered by various organisations and charities from the local area. The trees will be set up in the early evening of Wednesday 28th November, when mince pies and mulled wine will be served to the contributors.
The church will be open on Thursday and Friday 29th and 30th November from 10.30am to 4.00pm. On Saturday 1st December the Priory Christmas Fair takes place. Why not come and enjoy this truly festive time and also view the Christmas trees from 10.30am to 4.00pm? On Sunday 2nd December the church will be open after 9.30am, for Mass from 11.00am, and remain open until 4.00pm. Light refreshments, tea and coffee will be served throughout each day and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Each year money has been raised for various charities all nominated by those entering trees. The organisers are always pleased to welcome new charities and organisations to participate in this annual event. The decoration of the trees is entirely up to each organisation, from the most traditional to the most modern. Should you wish to join in please contact Jean Hassett on 07854 718031.
