Tickhill Music Society resumes its activities in October with a new approach to music appreciation.
There will be the usual programme of concerts from now until next summer, but the dark winter evenings will be replaced by lunchtime events. Evening concerts will take place on Thursdays instead of Fridays, with the addition of welcoming drinks and other attractions.
The first event will be an evening with the renowned local conductor, voice coach and pianist Matt Beckingham at the usual venue of St Mary’s Primary School in Tickhill at 7.00pm on Thursday 5th October.
The following concert will be given by Waddington Military Wives Choir on Thursday 2nd November at 7.30pm, this time in the parish church. Non-members £15.00, payable at the door.
About the Military Wives
The Military Wives Choirs Foundation is a network of 72 choirs around the world, reaching across the whole military community, bringing over 2,000 women closer together through singing. It provides a head start for women in the military community to make new friends and get to know the local community when moving from base to base.
Through its growing network of choirs, the Foundation is building something that brightens lives, changes perceptions and strengthens military communities.
Waddington Military Wives Choir was established in 2014. It was felt that something was missing from the local community for all ladies with connections to the military; wives, partners, parents, widows, veterans and current serving personnel. A central point was needed for where these women could come together to offer support each other, share stories, have the feeling of belonging to something and giving them the space to be themselves.
