Rotary against polio

On 13th September, the three Bassetlaw Rotary Clubs of Retford, Worksop and Worksop Dukeries joined together to raise money for the fight against polio. 142 members and guests attended a Charles Hanson Valuation Evening at Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor. Approximately £1,300 was raised which with double matched funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, means that £3,900 will go towards polio eradication.

With only single figure new cases throughout the world this year, it is necessary to continue immunisation for three full years before polio can be considered totally eradicated. To make a donation please contact any of the above Rotary Clubs

Worksop Rotary has many interesting events and speakers arranged for the coming year. Why not give the club a try? Members meet every Tuesday evening at The Lion Hotel in Worksop — at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start. They would be very pleased to meet you. Please check the club out on Facebook — www.facebook.com/WorksopRotary.
