The Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal comes at a time when families in all parts of the UK are struggling with rising energy bills and making ends meet, so it is understandable if families are reluctant to join in this year’s appeal.
However, Christmas is a time of celebration and coming together. If you are able to join in this year’s appeal, free pre-printed shoeboxes with packing instructions are available from Worksop Christian Centre Life, Vicars Walk, Worksop on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
The National Collection Week is 14th to 21st November and Worksop Christian Centre is a Church Collection Point. A donation of £5.00 per box is requested to cover the cost of administration and onward transportation and can be made at www.samaritans-purse.org.uk.
If you do not have access to the internet, please use the packing leaflet which is designed to accept your donation and place it in your shoebox. The leaflet will also tell you what to pack and what not to pack in your shoebox. Please remember to remove price labels but not safety labels from items that you pack and do not include sweets or toothpaste in your box. No used items.
Please use the pre-printed shoeboxes that are available or those obtained from shoe shops, as the shoeboxes are packed into larger cartons for onward transportation. A big thank you from the Shoebox Appeal if you are or have been involved in previous years.
