When the curtain rises for Worksop’s Got Talent: The Finale on Friday 6th November 2026, it won’t just mark the end of a popular talent competition. It will bring the final chapter of one of Nottinghamshire’s biggest community success stories to a close.
What began in 2016 as an ambitious idea to showcase local performers while raising money for charity has grown into one of the region’s most recognisable annual events. Over the past decade, Worksop’s Got Talent has entertained thousands of people, uncovered remarkable local talent and raised almost £200,000 for charitable causes, with much of the fundraising supporting life-changing research for sight loss conditions.
Year after year, the event has packed the North Notts Arena, selling out on nine occasions with audiences of 700 people every year. Along the way it has collected nine awards, attracted celebrity judges from television, music and sport, and even earned organiser James Clarke invitations to Buckingham Palace and the House of Commons in recognition of the event’s community impact.
For many contestants, stepping onto the Worksop’s Got Talent stage has been the start of something much bigger. Former finalists have gone on to perform at major corporate events, attract millions of views online and appear on national television programmes, including The Voice UK. Countless others have simply gained the confidence to pursue performing, proving that the show has always been about much more than winning a trophy.
The audience has also become used to a few surprises. Alongside all-star celebrity judges appearing in person, virtual appearances from household names including Simon Cowell, Boris Johnson, Piers Morgan and James Corden have become a popular feature of the show over the years, helping make every finale feel like a major entertainment event.
Now, as the tenth and final show approaches, organisers are searching for one last cast of local stars.
Applications are now open for singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, magicians and performers of every kind, with no age restrictions. Successful applicants will be invited to audition in Worksop in late-August before competing in front of a capacity audience and an all-star celebrity judging panel this November.
