Are you interested in France and all things French? Then Les Francophiles de Tickhill could be just for you. Meetings take the form of visiting and local speakers, social events and activities, all with a French theme. The annual subscription is £20.00. Visitors are welcome at meetings for a charge of £5.00 which is refundable if they decide to join.
The first meeting of the Francophiles’ 2022-23 programme is on Wednesday 5th October, when Victoria Newson will be talking about ‘My French experience from studying in Canada to archaeology in France’.
Victoria, despite being from Toronto, was brought up in the French language and is now studying for a PhD in Sheffield.
Talks are in English but there is an opportunity to speak French during the meeting with many members being fluent in the language. Members old and new are welcome.
