JOEL The Complete Package, is a local charity supporting families through conceiving, pregnancy and parenting of a baby born after the devastation of loss. JOEL offer support online, by running monthly family ‘Chasing Rainbow’ sessions on the first Saturday of each month at the Golden Ball in Worksop and an evening ‘Together — Hope After Loss’ support session also runs at the Golden Ball on the second Tuesday of each month at the Golden Ball from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
JOEL also provided Bassetlaw Hospital with a bespoke multi-purpose Family Suite with the priority given to bereaved families, allowing them to spend precious time making memories with their babies. Plus so much more!
JOEL’s support encompasses the whole family and the charity has recently set up a Dads and partners group called ‘JOEL Dads’.
Co-founder Matt Pearson said: “Dads or partners can often feel very lonely and isolated due to putting aside their own grief whilst supporting their partner after the devastation of baby loss. Trying to conceive, pregnancy and parenting after loss can also be a very difficult time due to the enormous anxieties and stress placed upon the family. Unfortunately some men can overlook their feelings and try to remain strong for their partner. Men often get overlooked and support for dads or partners is very limited. “
JOEL Dads has been set up to provide a safe and supportive environment for Dads and partners to meet others that understand exactly how they are feeling without having to say a word. The main focus of the group is to improve mental wellbeing and stress relief.
The group will be meeting bi-monthly and taking part in a range of activities, which range from paintballing to brewery tours. An online closed Facebook group will also provide a safe platform for discussion and to arrange meetings.
