Guys and Dolls comes to Whitwell

by | 1 May 2017 | Performing Arts, Worksop

Broadway blockbuster ‘Guys and Dolls’ comes to Whitwell Community Centre from Wednesday 10th to Saturday 13th May, starting each evening at 7.15pm and an afternoon matinee on Saturday at 2.15pm.

On the streets of New York, gambler, Sky Masterson (Luke Neeve), falls in love with the Mission sergeant Sarah Brown (Fern Morris), who is trying in vain to clean up Broadway of all sinners. Coming into town to shoot crap, Sky meets Nathan Detroit (Peter Lack) and his fellow gamblers, who run the oldest established permanent, floating crap game in New York. Meanwhile after 14 years of engagement, Nathan’s long suffering girlfriend, Miss Adelaide (Lauren Greenhalgh) is desperately trying to tie Nathan down and most importantly put an end to his gambling.

Do opposites attract? Does gambling ever pay off, or does the house always win? And does anyone get the ending they so long for? With song favourites such as Luck Be A Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat and of course, Guys and Dolls, and a fantastic ensemble, come along and see how the story ends for those fabulous Guys and Dolls.

Tickets are available now from Whitwell Community Centre or calling and leaving a message on 01909 723490 or via online ticket site
