St Mary’s Church, Norton Cuckney, are holding an exhibition of WWI memorabilia and historical research, mainly associated with local people, to commemorate the centenary of the end of The Great War. The church will be open 11.00am to 3.00pm each day from Wednesday 7th November to Saturday 10th November.
There will be a concert in the church on Friday 9th November at 7.15pm, including poetry, a children’s choir and audience participation. On Sunday 11th November, there will be a Service of Remembrance at 10.45am. During this period the church porch and walls will be displaying over 5,000 hand-made poppies made by people in the local community, with some purple poppies in the church in recognition of the service provided by animals and birds. Entrance to all the events is free, but any donations received will go to The Royal British Legion and forces charities.
