Bassetlaw Food Bank

by | 9 October 2021 | Local Charity, Worksop

Bassetlaw Food Bank has several exciting volunteer opportunities and if you can spare anywhere from an hour to a day a week, the charity would love to hear from you!
Currently they are looking for volunteer drivers, particularly on Mondays and Friday. This can be at any time from 10.00am to 4.00pm, for as little as an hour of your time. Expenses are reimbursed to all their volunteer drivers.
They are also looking for fundraising volunteers who can help them with anything from standing at Retford’s Friday markets, helping with events, or photographing and listing donated goods on eBay.
As they re-open their Retford unit to support their fundraising ventures, they are looking for volunteer upcyclers. Why not get your creative juices flowing by helping turn donated goods into one-of-a-kind pieces for sale? Perfect for seasoned sewists or those who want to learn a new skill.
Going forwards, one day a week they will be running a social eating café at the Crossing Church in Worksop town centre. This will give the opportunity for those referred to get a well-rounded hot meal at a low price and provide a space for people to socialise. They are looking for volunteers to help cook meals, serve, and welcome visitors into the café.
So, as you can see there is a lot to get your teeth stuck into. If you are interested in joining the friendly team and helping their cause, then email them at admin@bassetlawfoodbank.org.
