  • Clumberland Tales with Father Christmas
    2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th December
    10.00am – 4.15pm
    Settle down and hear a festive Clumberland tale told by Father Christmas himself, right here in Clumber Park. A perfect way for the whole family to enjoy a Christmas activity. You will be welcomed by Father Christmas’s helpers and invited to take a seat for a group story. Once settled Father Christmas will read a wintery Clumberland tale to get you in the Christmas spirit. Once the story has finished all children will receive a small gift from Father Christmas. Booking is required.
    £8.00 per child, includes park admission charge
  • Clumberland Tales for Toddlers with Father Christmas
    6th, 7th, 13th, 14th December
    10.00am – 11.45am
    Settle down and hear a festive Clumberland tale told by Father Christmas himself, right here in Clumber Park. A perfect way for the whole family to enjoy a Christmas activity. You will be welcomed by Father Christmas’s helpers and invited to take a seat for a group story. Once settled Father Christmas will read a wintery Clumberland tale to get you in the Christmas spirit. Once the story has finished all children will receive a small gift from Father Christmas. This session is for pre-school under fives. Booking is required.

  • Clumberland Quest
    Saturday 23rd December and Sunday 7th January
    11.00am – 3.00pm daily
    Join the quest and seek out the knaves, and lost treasures of Clumberland. Booking is not needed.
    £1.00 per child, plus park admission charge
  • Tinsel Trek
    Thursday 28th December
    10.30am – 12.30pm
    Blow away the cobwebs with a winter walk around Clumber this festive season. This is a two-hour walk (six to seven miles). Meet in the main car park at 10.00am.
    This is a free event but normal park admission charges apply.

  • Santa’s Grotto at Rufford
    Every Saturday and Sunday until 23rd December
    11.00am – 4.00pm daily
    Bring the little ones to meet Santa and his helpers and every child will receive a gift.
    £5.00 per child. (normal parking charges apply)
  • Family Christmas Crafts
    Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December, 11.00am – 3.00pm
    Get in the festive mood and keep the youngsters busy with our drop in make-it sessions. All materials supplied. We’ll make willow Christmas wreaths, willow Christmas trees, or maybe even reindeers.

  • Santa Punch and Judy
    Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December
    12.00pm – 3.00pm daily
    A special outdoor Christmas theme Punch and Judy show with ever popular children’s entertainer Paul Temple. A little close up magic and balloon modelling adds to the fun.

  • St Nicholas’ Yuletide Grotto
    Until 17th December
    11.00am – 4.00pm
    The forerunner to Father Christmas, and the traditional bearer of Yuletide gifts, St Nicholas will be in his medieval-style grotto each weekend until Sunday 17th December, ready to welcome visitors. Booking not needed.

  • Yuletide Treasure Trail
    Every Saturday and Sunday until 7th January
    11.00am – 3.00pm
    Enjoy some of the forest’s midwinter magic on this self-guided weekend trail around the Major Oak path, with a ‘sweet’ reward for all those who complete the clues!

  • Dog Grotto
    9th and 10th December
    11.00am – 12.30pm and 2.00pm – 3.00pm
    No we haven’t gone barking mad, but knowing how much so many of our regular visitors love their pooches, we thought it was about time they had the chance to treat their canine companions to their very own visit to Santa Paws! All proceeds will be donated to Jerry Green Dog Rescue. Booking is essential

  • Tree Dressing
    Sunday 3rd December
    11.30am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm
    A seasonal highlight in Sherwood’s Christmas calendar. Join in the ancient custom of Tree Dressing, and where better to celebrate the wonder of trees than in one of England’s most famous forests. Come along and drop in on any of the sessions to make a decoration to hang on our chosen tree in the Visitor Centre. Whilst the tree is being dressed there will be winter tales and music from Pilgrims and Posies. The Visitor Centre lights switch on will take place at 4.15pm, once the tree has been dressed with all the decorations.

  • Christmas Eve Walk
    24th December
    11.00am – 12.30pm
    Enjoy a gentle stroll with a ranger through the ancient glades of Sherwood, looking for winter wildlife and discovering more about this legendary forest.

  • Boxing Day Walk
    26th December
    11.30am – 1.00pm
    If you think you may have overdone the excesses of the festive period, this is your chance to breathe in some fresh air and get your legs working again!

  • Jack and the Beanstalk
    Saturday 2nd December to Sunday 7th January
    Mansfield Palace Theatre is presenting a giant of a pantomime in amazing 3D this year. Mark Little, from Neighbours, stars as Fleshcreep, alongside Rebecca Wheatley from Casualty as the Vegetable Fairy, Adam Moss as Simple Simon as Craig Ansell as Dame Trott.
