Tuxford Town Council

by | 14 November 2023 | Community facility, Sherwood

Tuxford Town Council, working alongside District Councillor Emma Griffin, received more than 400 responses from its online questionnaire, which asked what Tuxford would like for its young people.

The top priority was an outdoor gym, covered social space and a bike track. A funding application by Tuxford Town Council (TTC) to try and provide this equipment was led by Councillor Rebecca Patman, and the Council has received news to confirm that £49,271 had been awarded to Tuxford from the Rural Infrastructure Fund, allocated by Bassetlaw District Council. TTC contribution requirement is £8,000 in co-funding.

The equipment will be installed on Gilbert Avenue Playing Field, complementing the soccer pitches, and will be available for the whole community to use.

There are many more initiatives and exciting projects to work on, and the Council, along with Emma, and will be asking residents to offer input and support.

If you would like to consider joining TTC, there are now vacancies. This is an unpaid, voluntary position, but the rewards of improving the town for its residents are great. For details contact clerk Lynda at clerk@tuxfordtowncouncil.gov.uk.
