Armistice Day 100 Years
As you will be aware, 2018 marks 100 years since the signing of the Armistice, ending the great war in 1918. To mark this occasion there will be a special service at St Winifrid’s Church in Stainton and in line with churches throughout Europe it will start at 10.30am on Remembrance Sunday. Wreaths will be laid by community groups at the war memorial outside the church at 11.00am as the bells chime. Everyone is welcome to join in this service of commemoration and afterwards in the village hall for light refreshments.
