There’s a whole host of events and things to do in our area this month:

All Saints Square, Rotherham Town Centre
Rotherham Christmas Lights Switch-On
Thursday 15th November, 4.00pm
Lots of festive fun and see the town illuminated for Christmas at this free annual event.

Clifton Park and Museum
Bonfire Night
Saturday 3rd November, 4.30pm
The event is free to enter but charges will apply for fair rides and food stands. Fair opens at 4.30pm, fire lit at 6.30pm, children’s fireworks at 6.45pm and main fireworks at 7.45pm.

Little Learners Sensory Play
Thursday 8th November, 10.15am to12.00pm
Lots of fun for little learners at this sensory play session, with sand, water beads, water, feathers, fur and lots of different toys. Suitable for one to four-year olds. No booking required.

Thursday 15th November, 1.00pm to 3.00pm
Drop-in session with Amy Downes, the South and West Yorkshire Finds Liaison Officer. Please bring your archaeological objects for identification and recording on to the PAS database.

Maltby Town Council Fireworks Display
Monday 5th November, 5.00pm
Annual Fireworks Display by Maltby Town Council. Disco starts at 5.00pm, fireworks display at 6.30pm, children’s fairground rides, refreshments available.

Braithwell Christmas Fair
Sunday 18th November, 10.00am to 4.00pm
The Braithwell Christmas Fair, held by Braithwell Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers.

Circus of Horrors – Psycho Asylum
Friday 2nd November, 7.30pm
The spectacular features an amazing amalgamation of bizarre and fantastic circus acts all woven into a sensational shock/horror story and the darkest of magic.

The South
Saturday 3rd November, 7.30pm
The South feature former members of The Beautiful South including singer Alison Wheeler and lifelong sax player Gaz Birtles. Since Dave Hemingway left the group, Gaz has moved across to front the band with Alison and taken on vocal duties. They play the songs made famous by The Beautiful South and bring back the full flavour and excitement with the nine-piece live band.

Wickersley Youngstars present Hairspray
Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th November, 7.15pm
It’s Baltimore, 1962 and Tracy Turnblad is a big girl with big hair and a big dream, she wants to dance her way onto National TV and into the heart of her idol Link Larkin. Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and she tries to use her new-found fame to fight for integration.
