There will be plenty of activity at Maltby St Bartholomew’s in December, but first they want to say thank you to all who have supported their roof fund in the last few weeks. There was a wonderful evening with Harry Gration of BBC Look North, on 29th October.
The atmosphere was convivial, the food and wine delicious and Harry was both charming and informative. He kept everyone enthralled for almost an hour talking about his career, the background to the producing of Look North and much more. Over £1,000 was raised on the night thanks to the wonderful support from those who attended. Harry attended without charge and Tesco Maltby kindly donated apple pies towards the supper menu.
The following Friday, Tesco Maltby again backed the church’s fundraising efforts by allowing members of the congregation, led by Keith Stringer, to hold a bucket collection in the store’s foyer. On that occasion, £250 was raised. Thank you to all who worked and contributed.
On Saturday 25th November at 7.00pm the local choir, Friends in Harmony, are giving a concert in the church. The choir has been to the church several times in the past and have been very popular. Admission is £7.00 and includes refreshments.
On Saturday 2nd December in the Edward Dunn Memorial Hall, the church will be holding its Christmas Fair. Lots of stalls and delicious refreshments will be available from 11.00am to 2.00pm. On this occasion proceeds will be for church`s general funds and upkeep.
Please join the congregation in St Bartholomew`s on Sunday 17th December at 6.00pm for a traditional carol service. Refreshments will include mulled wine and mince pies. The ever-popular Christingle Service is on Christmas Eve 24th December at 6.00pm, followed by Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at 11.30pm. Morning service on Christmas Day is at 9.30am.
Everyone at St Bartholomew’s wishes you a happy and blessed Christmas. They do hope to welcome you to at least one of their events.
