by | 3 August 2017 | Community Focus, Rotherham

Bramley and Wickersley Girlguiding need your help! Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Thanks to the dedication and support of 100,000 amazing volunteers, it is active in every part of the UK, giving girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities.

  • We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations.
  • We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.

Do you know anyone that would like to get involved?
In our local area there are young girls on long waiting lists due to a shortage of volunteers. Volunteering with Girlguiding UK is a fantastic way to make a real difference to the lives of girls and young women in your community — and gain some amazing experiences yourself.

Whether you can help out every few months or make regular weekly commitments, there will be a role to suit you. Girlguiding UK welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities. Guiding is flexible and volunteering can be arranged to fit around a busy lifestyle. Whatever your skills and interests, and no matter how much or how little time you have to spare, a Girlguiding volunteering role is bound to suit you. And your contribution is sure to be appreciated by the girls.

People can volunteer to help out with:

  • Rainbows aged five to seven
  • Brownies aged seven to 10
  • Guides aged 10 to 14
  • The Senior Section aged 14 to 26
