Voglia d’Italia (the Italian Society for South Yorks and North Notts) presents ‘The Italian Armistice – 80 Years On’ at their next meeting.
Betty Merrick relates some stories of escapes by Allied prisoners of war following the Armistice in September 1943, and of the bravery of Italian peasant folk who sheltered them in German occupied Italy.
