There will be something happening around the clock, as Tickhill Together presents its 1940s day, on Saturday 10th June from 11.00am to 11.00pm.

Between 11.00am and 4.00pm there are a number of venues with displays and exhibitions including the Notts and Derbys Living History Group at Castle Close, vintage prams and vintage stalls in the Scout/Guide HQ, dance demonstrations and instruments in the Institute as well as military vehicles and a 1940s bus.

Tickets are needed for the Afternoon Tea Dance from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, with entertainment provided by Pete Jones. This costs £5 and include afternoon tea. There is a children’s tea party from 4.30pm to 6.00pm, costing £2.50 include food. Between 7.30pm and 11.00pm there will be a 1940s dance entertainment by Paul Harper and Melissa and tickets for this cost £10 including a light supper. All of these events take place in the Institute and tickets are available from Castlegate Cards and Castlegate DIY, Castlegate, Tickhill.

Organisers hope some of the shop windows and businesses will be dressed for the occasion too and serving food of the era. They invite everyone to dress in the 1940s style to give a real flavour to the day.
