Summer’s on the way. Let Rotherham U3A tempt you out-of-doors with one or more of their not-to-be-missed, June excursions. The starting point is The Tanyard, with pick-up points en route to the Town Centre.
On 15th June, the ‘Out-and-About’ group anticipate an action-packed day in Hull, 2017 City of Culture, including a guided coach tour of the city plus free time to explore the various attractions ‘close-up’. The following day, 16th June, the Gardening Group are visiting Derbyshire, calling in at Meynell Langley Gardens, a nursery with a wide variety of plants and a tearoom selling drinks, cakes and light lunches. Suitably fortified, the group will make its way to privately owned June Burrows Gardens. This beautiful venue boasts an Italian garden, bog garden, Cornish and Roman garden, a wide range of trees, shrubs, roses and climbers as well as some rare or unusual plants — in short, something for all garden lovers. Refreshments are available in the tearoom. Plants and wrought iron plant supports are also on sale.
