Thursday 30th October was Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club’s Partners and Guests evening, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.
At the meeting, cheques were presented to two of the club’s supported charities – Shiloh and Rotherham Cancer Care Centre. The funds were raised by Rotarians Tom Knight and Steve Burns, who completed their Coast and Castles charity cycle ride earlier this year. Well done to both for their tremendous efforts.
Rotherham Sitwell Rotary supports tomorrow’s nurses
Two aspiring nurses from Rotherham have received a welcome boost for their university studies thanks to the Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Bursary for Nursing.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Rotherham Sitwell Rotary has awarded £500 each year to one student from Thomas Rotherham College and one from Rotherham College who are progressing to study nursing at a local university.
This year’s recipients are:
- Izabela Nawara (Thomas Rotherham College), now studying Adult Nursing at Sheffield Hallam University
- Ferzana Aurangzeb (Rotherham College), now studying Adult Nursing at the University of Sheffield
