Exciting news for Maltby residents! RotherFed has just been given a lottery grant and local residents will get to choose exactly how that money is spent.
The cash comes from The National Lottery Community Fund through a brand-new pilot scheme called ‘You Decide’. The goal of this is to give the power of how the grant is used directly to local residents to help them build a happier, healthier community.
RotherFed is using the money to set up a local grants panel made up of people who live in Maltby. This panel will look at applications from local clubs and groups, then decide who gets small and medium-sized cash boosts to start new projects.
The funding will be used to:
- Improve local services and activities
- Help people learn new skills and build up their confidence
- Make Maltby a closer, stronger community
By letting local people make the decisions, the project hopes to give everyone a real sense of pride and ownership over their town.
