Two choir members, Janet French and Hilda Allsop, received a cheque from the Friends in Harmony choir for £250 on behalf of Rotherham Talking Newspaper which is a local registered charity that exists to provide a service to people, of any age, who are blind, visually impaired, or unable to hold and read a newspaper for any reason. The service is totally free to listeners and produced almost entirely by volunteers. There are currently around 400 listeners and they distribute around 800 recordings per week on either audio cassette, CD, or USB Memory Stick.
The choir also kindly donated a cheque for £250 to Rotherham Abuse Counselling Service.
