Dry Land Regatta flows on

Bramley and Wickersley Lions will be holding their annual Dry Land Regatta on Saturday 8th July on the Flash Lane field at Bramley. Due to improvements being carried out on the Wickersley School field, the Regatta has moved location, but still boasts a wide range of stalls, attractions and “the only dry land boat races in the area”. Anyone not familiar with the event (where have you been?), will find a number of handmade boats, with competitors ‘running inside’, to get to the end of the course. There are different categories for teams of all ages and solo skippers. In order to get the best out of your boat, it is recommended to get your crew together and build in advance, but there will be ample cardboard, glue and tape in the dry dock on the day — for anyone who wants to join in.

The regatta has something for everyone, with live music, food, drink and entertainment available throughout the day. Entry to the Flash Lane field is by donation, from 12.00pm to 5.30pm.

As part of the largest service organisation in the world, Bramley and Wickersley Lions are using the expertise of Rotherham Lions to make the event better than ever. Anyone who wants to have a stall, build a boat or help out on the day can contact the organisers through the Bramley and Wickersley Lions Facebook page or 07801 811857.
