Doncaster Spanish Society will be meeting on Friday 17th November for an illustrated talk by John Mallinder on ‘Lorca, his Life and Literature’. Lorca was a Spanish poet and playwright known particularly for Gypsy Ballads, Lament for a Bullfighter, and the plays Blood Wedding, Yerma and The House of Bernarda Alba. The talk will be mainly in English and will focus on Lorca’s life and his poetry.
The meeting is from 7.00pm until 9.00pm at Doncaster Sports and Social Club, Bennetthorpe, DN2 6AA (opposite the Earl of Doncaster). Parking is available on site. Drinks can be purchased at the bar, and the Society will provide light snacks.
