It’s been another busy month at Bramley Sunnyside Infant School.
We are immensely proud to announce that Bramley Sunnyside Infant School has been awarded ‘Rotherham Charter Gold Accreditation’. This is a fantastic honour which could not have been achieved without the ongoing support and feedback the school’s families. We wish to extend our grateful thanks to all parents who regularly attend our parent forum meetings and to those who gave up their time to attend the meeting on Accreditation Day. A full report will follow which will be made available to all our parents/carers as soon as we receive it.
A science enhancement week was held which gave the children the chance to become young scientists by conducting their own experiments. They learned how to make gooey slime, all about chemical reactions and how to make larva lamps and balloon volcanoes in a series of hands-on workshops. Our very own ‘Mad Scientist’ Mr Josh Turner (science teacher) from Wickersley School and Sports College, visited to perform experiments which amazed the children! Quantum Theatre group performed a musical show around the science theme of ‘materials’ and Sublime Science provided fun and interactive experiments too which has greatly enhance the children’s learning.
Red Nose Day
A non-uniform day was held in support of Comic Relief. Children were asked to wear something red. Parents sent donations which will be sent to Comic Relief.
An information session was held for parents of the Year 2 children who will be taking their SATs tests this year. Teaching staff were on hand to explain the process and answer any questions parents may have.
