Once again, NODA award winning Retford Amateur Operatic Society will be treading the boards of the Retford Little Theatre with their annual presentation of a classic family pantomime, with a few more twists than usual.
This year’s spectacular will be Sleeping Beauty (by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barratt) and is already proving to be a laugh a minute adaptation of the well-known fairy tale. Performances take place from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th December (every evening at 7.30pm and a Saturday and Sunday matinee at 2.15pm).
We’ve got four family tickets to the Wednesday show to give away to our readers. To be in with a chance of winning email email@example.com.
In this version, the evil fairy Poison Ivy, casts a spell on the beautiful Princess Snowdrop because she did not receive an invitation to the Princess’ Christening celebrations from her parents, the King and Queen of Hearts. The three good fairies, Rose Petal, Blossom and Tulip vow to protect the Princess from her fate — to be cast into an eternal sleep from the pricking of her finger on a spinning wheel. We meet the larger than life Marigold Glove and her son Andy, dashing Prince Rupert and his Equerry Maurice, and a whole array of villagers, maids, flunkies, sprites and goblins.
Tickets are available by calling 07845 116698 or from the Theatre Box Office every Saturday morning throughout November.
