We’ve got it covered

The latest project from Retford Textiles Group (formerly North Notts Embroidery Guild) celebrates the season of mellowness and fruitfulness.

These jam jar covers would greatly enhance any harvest festival products – they are simple printed designs on circles of fabric, but really eye-catching. The bowl covers are slightly more complex to make, being fitted with an elasticated seam.

The wasp design is just so appropriate for this time of year and was a commercially produced printing block obtainable online. The pictures will inspire you to create masterpieces without the need to be an expert at drawing. Fabric pens and fabric paints should always be fixed with a hot iron at the end of designing to ensure colour fastness on fabrics.
