The next social leisure cycle ride organised by Bassetlaw volunteer rangers will be on Sunday 20th August from Retford. Meet from 9.45am at Café Roubaix, 38 Bridgegate, for a 10.00am start.
We’ll head out of town via Eaton, dropping down into the Trent valley to take minor roads and lanes to Marnham and Normanton, on our way to a lunch stop at the Great Northern Inn in Carlton-on-Trent. Our return will be via Egmanton and Tuxford, joining National Cycle Route 647 towards Bevercotes, then back through Gamston to Retford.
This ride will be all on-road, so suitable for all types of bike; covering a distance of around 37 miles. Riders under 18 are welcome but should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Our September ride will be on the 17th, exploring cycle routes around the Mansfield area — more details in the next issue. Before then, Newark rangers will be leading a ride to the Newfield Dairy Café near Hockerton on Sunday 3rd September.
