Retford Steampunk Festival

by | 22 July 2017 | Community Event, Retford, Sherwood, Worksop

Retford Steampunk Festival is being held on Saturday 5th August with activities and attractions based at Bassetlaw Museum, Grove Street Methodist Church, the Market Square and West Street Galleries. The festival is being promoted by West Street Galleries, which is a not-for-profit organisation helping people in need to find creative ways to improve their lives.

There will be a Steampunk Market, Vintage Tea Room, Parasol and Tea Duelling, live entertainment, stalls and refreshments, Gin Bar and Steampunk craft activities for children. Admission is free from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Evening entertainment starts at 6.00pm and is ticket only.

The general ethos of Steampunk is all-welcoming, accepting, encouraging, respectful and polite. Enthusiasts revel in the creativity and ingenuity of others, which is one reason why West Street Galleries have adopted this theme and philosophy for its approach to helping people take control of their lives and improve their well-being. The unconventional work of West Street Galleries is delivering results, which means getting community support for the festival is really important so that more people can benefit from what they do.
