Retford Art Society’s October ‘paint-out’ will take place in Kings Park, Retford on Wedenesday 18th October, with a 10.00am meet at the main gates near the Old Police Station. This outdoor event is free to all, so pop along and have a chat, sketch, paint and draw. Refreshments will be on sale.
On Thursday 26th October, Ian Davenport will be demonstrating a contemporary local landscape in oils from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at the Swan Studio. Ian, who currently has an exciting exhibition at the Bassetlaw Museum called A Sense of Place, recently completed a degree in Fine Art and enjoys using bold colour and textures.

Life drawing dates are 11th and 25th October, 7.00pm at Swan Studio. The event will continue every two weeks and is drop-in. Life drawing is a great exercise, and the group caters to all abilities! Open to members and non-members aged 16+ (there is a limitation on numbers so please email before attending for the first time). Members £5.00; non-members £7.00.
Saturday morning kids club (7 to 11 years) October dates are 7th and 21st October. Limited spaces are available. Booking is through the Hub, Cannon Square, or call Paul on 07852 932137.
The Swan Studio sessions are Tuesday (7.00pm) and Friday (2.00pm) for open sessions free to all. £1.00 donation for tea, coffee and biscuits. A great chance to discuss and paint, draw or whatever you like!
