Remembrance Sunday

by | 6 November 2017 | Community Event, Heritage, Retford

This year’s annual service of remembrance will take place on Sunday 12th November, starting at 10.45am prompt. As usual, the venue is around the War Memorial in Retford Market Square. Everyone is welcome. Please come and remember all those who have been involved in conflict, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
If you require a wreath please call Ann Hickman on 01777 818993. Poppy crosses will be available on the day or from the supermarket outlets during the poppy appeal.

A short service of remembrance will be held on Saturday 11th November, again around the War Memorial with a 10.45am start. We look forward to seeing you at one or both of the events.

The local supermarkets are again supporting the poppy appeal and there will be the chance to donate to the appeal or acquire some of the items that have been locally sourced for sale. A stall will be located in Morrissons from Monday 30th October and later that same week in Aldi, Asda and Home Bargains. Local shops and businesses will also be displaying the poppy boxes from 30th October. Without your valuable contributions The Royal British Legion would be unable to continue their programme of help for ex-military personnel and their families. Thank you.
