Get your tickets for the next two evenings brought to you by Pies, Peas and Performances at St Saviour’s Church and Community Centre, Lidget Lane, Retford.
First up is The Amber List on Saturday 11th November. Doors open and pies are served at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.
The Amber List’s sound is a classic indie, guitar driven one, high on melody, peppered with harmonies and touched with atmospherics. Many have likened them to The Smiths, REM and Echo and the Bunnymen, and it’s fair to say you can hear the influence of such bands shine through in their songs. The band are equally comfortable playing small, intimate, acoustic shows alongside slightly noisier, electric performances.
The first half will be acoustic and the second, electric. Bring your own drinks. Tickets cost £15.00.
Then, see Sean Ruane and Friends on Saturday 2nd December. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.00pm.
For the past five years Sean Ruane – an international opera singer – has been performing an early December concert in Retford. Sean will be accompanied by local musicians – baritone Mark Cantrill, pianist and MD, James Fox, violinist Graham Bottley, flautists Sally Cookson and Lisa Morrison and the Allegra Voice Choir.
Sean said: “I will be singing with baritone, Mark and there will be traditional and modern Christmas songs. It will be a wonderful way to begin the Christmas celebrations.” Tickets cost £10.00.
Tickets for both events are available from Wonderland Bookshop, www.wegottickets.com or payable on the door.
