Each year, a lunch is organised for the Past Lady Captains of Retford Golf Club.
This year, 21 Past Captains played a golfing competition over 10 holes and then entered a putting challenge.
The winner of the golf competition was Margaret Walker and Wendy Pine won the putting challenge.
24 ladies sat down to a lovely lunch. They organised themselves onto a long table and sat in order of their year of captaincy. It is great fun, looking back at photos, sharing tales from the past and generally checking on the wellbeing of all Past Captains. It is another indication of how welcoming the Ladies section is at Retford.
Mary Saddington, as the most recent Past Captain welcomed all the ladies and also introduced the current Lady Captain, Anna Avery, who will have the task of organising next year’s event.
