Parkinson’s UK

by | 1 October 2021 | Retford, Support Group

The first meeting of the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK after restrictions were lifted was a huge success, with members old and new joining the warmth and friendship of being together again after so long. Nostalgia and laughter abounded as Ann Featherstone gave a humorous account of holidays during the war years and a splendid rendition of ‘Albert and the Lion’.
The next meeting is on Tuesday 5th October at 2.00pm at Worksop Cricket Club, Central Avenue, Worksop S80 1EN. The group will be entertained by Diane Hemsby, telling the humorous story of ‘Buttons’. New members are always most welcome. They firmly believe no one should feel alone with Parkinson’s and offer friendship and support to everyone with the condition, their family or carers.
The first meeting of the popular Lunch Club is booked for Tuesday 26th October at The Lockkeeper Worksop at 12.30pm. Pilates classes are fully running again, meeting at 2.00pm at The Crossing every Thursday afternoon.
