Pancreatic cancer fundraising

Fundraisers David and Denise Challinor raised £380 at the Babworth Sports and Social Club charity Halloween party, making a grand total of £1,030 raised by them this year for Pancreatic Cancer.

This time last year the couple said they would do some fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer as a very close friend’s mum died very sudden from this form of cancer. Earlier in the year, they held a frog race night to begin their challenge and this was followed by the Halloween party.

David said: “Both myself and Denise believe that it’s important to involve the family side of things as it gets them doing things together, so that has been central to our events.

“I would like to thank the staff and committee at Babworth Sports and Social Club for the support they have given us in raising this money by giving the use of their function room. Each year we pick a charity, be it a local one or a national one we don’t care, we just enjoy raising money.

“The total from two events is £1,030 with one more bucket collection to be done with Pancreatic Cancer stickers and information and awareness leaflets in Morrisons Retford during November.”
