Move to Music raises £3,000 for Bassetlaw Hospice

by | 16 October 2017 | Community Event, Local Charity, Retford, Social Group

The weekly Move to Music class members have raised £3,500 this year and £3,000 of this money will go to our local Bassetlaw Hospice who work within the community to provide hospice in patient care and a day therapy unit. Of the remaining money, £250 will go to Dementia Research and £250 to Cancer Research.

If you want to try something new, improve your mobility, work to improve your posture and balance and build on your strength and co-ordination you can join members — you have nothing to lose as your first class is free — and if you decide to join in regularly you will be helping this local charity and other charities.

Move to Music is a very friendly group of mature ladies and they love to see new faces. The lovely ladies who want to stay fit and active regularly meet up once or twice a week for a blend of exercise, movement, and dance through a varied programme of co-ordinated work to keep the body fit and the mind active.

The classes cost £3.00 and all proceeds (after paying for the hall) go to the hospice and charities. Try one of the classes on any Monday at Grove Street Methodist Chapelgate Hall. A new programme started on Monday 4th September so why not come and give it a try? Your first class is free so come and see if you would like to join. Classes take place on Mondays from 12.00pm to 1.00pm and then from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. For more details call Doreen on 01777 700074 or 07773 587075.
