Rick Brand and Anna Scott gave an inspirational presentation on the Separatists, whose leaders were born and worshipped in the Retford area before they left for America in 1620. Images relating to the Mayflower Pilgrims’ journey were shown to the North Notts Creative Textiles Group, as they start to plan a piece of artwork to represent this important event, which is being commemorated in 2020.
Secretary, Jenny King, thanked the speakers and said that she and chairperson, Jo Walker, and Diane Hemsley looked forward to coordinating and working on a textile project in support of the celebration. More information on the international ‘Illuminate 400’ project can be found on the www.mayflowerpilgrims.org website.
