Little Theatre’s 77th season underway

Since 1941, the Retford Little Theatre (RLT) has entertained the town with nearly 400 productions of all kinds of plays from comedy to tragedy, drama to farce. It’s true that you can’t please all the people all of the time, but RLT does seem to achieve the right balance.

The 77th season of plays is now underway. A farcical comedy called The Decorator is presented from 29th September to 6th October. Though the cast is small, the ingredients of farce are all there, including mistaken identity and comedic relationship mix-ups.

Each season of plays lasts from September to May and features five major productions. Membership of the Theatre is open to all, and members pay a one off sum which secures them a ticket at all five productions for the box office price of four — a 20% discount. Membership can be arranged when booking for The Decorator either in person at the box office or by calling 01777 702002.

The other plays of the 77th season are The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder, The Perfect Murder by Shaun McKenna (from the book by Peter James), Waylaid by David J Harrison, and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice by Jim Cartwright. Full details are available from the Theatre.
