After a teaching career spanning more years than I care to count, my lesson preparations for Clarborough and Welham IT Group steer well clear of official syllabuses. Classes usually start with a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ through which we try to engage with the class-members about their needs.

We provide a friendly, even slightly off-the-wall, atmosphere and with plenty of ‘elbow room’, so that small groups working on a number of topics can easily be achieved. We actively encourage members to help each other too — a key part of learning. Add to this our free workbooks package of 100-plus worksheets provided to all members, and either guided or independent working are quite possible. We also have a range of open-source (which means free) applications easily installed on members laptops which include fully Microsoft-compatible office suites and digital image editing applications plus several others.

New tutors are always welcome including anyone looking to develop back-to-work skills — please get in touch. We can provide CV and reference support.

Autumn classes resume in Clarborough Village Hall on the week commencing 18th September in our usual Tuesday afternoons, from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, or Wednesday mornings from 10.00am to 11.30am, slots. Bring your own laptop or use one of ours. Fees are just £15 for a five-week block. Classes run through 30 weeks each year — see the IT Group website www.cwitgroup.btck.co.uk or village hall posters for our calendar of dates through to July 2018.
