‘An image is worth a thousand words’ is a bit of a misquote, but the principle is true — pictures are such powerful stimulants! However, have you got loads of digital photos on your camera or phone and don’t know what to do with them?
Clarborough and Welham IT Group is looking to launch a short programme of sessions at Clarborough Village Hall, starting in January 2019 with a focus (no pun intended) on getting to grips with digital image management and editing. These sessions are planned for Friday evenings (from 7.00pm to 8.30pm), from 4th January for five weeks for just £30.00.
This will include download of Gimp, the free, open source, image editing application which has just been updated to version 2.10. This powerful package is in the same league as Adobe’s full-feature, professional, Photoshop.
Our current plans start with basic image management such as getting them off camera cards and onto computers through basic edits such as cropping, exposure correction, sharpening, etc, to more artistic processes such as colourising black and white photos such as these.
If you’d like to join the group, please get in touch since we do need a minimum membership to make it happen! To find out more, or to enrol, get in touch — or better, come to Clarborough Christmas Tree Lighting on Wednesday 5th December, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm, at our Village Hall to have a chat.
Our usual IT group classes also continue on Tuesdays, from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, or Wednesdays, from 10.00am to 11.30pm, starting on the week commencing 12th November at just £20.00. Bring your own laptop or use one of our Windows 10 machines. This block of classes also has an iPad group.
