Golf Club’s Captains’ Charity Day

by | 2 July 2017 | Community Event, Retford, Sports Club

The Captains’ Charity Day at Retford Golf Club is the main fundraiser for the Captains’ charities and this year it will be held on Saturday 22nd July. You can play in men’s, ladies’ or mixed fourballs.

There will be prizes for the winners and for nearest the pin on two holes. Entry is £10 per player for members and £20 for visitors. Organisers are looking for hole sponsors at a minimum contribution of £25, so if you or anyone you know would, like to put their name on one of the holes or the practice putting green or short play area, please let the Golf Club Office know. The club is also grateful to receive any raffle prizes/auction prizes.

The captains this year are Fraser Britton and Pat Stirling. Their charities are Harefield Hospital and Canine Partners. Harefield Hospital in Middlesex has been chosen by Fraser as his son Andrew, who grew up in Retford and went to Ordsall Hall School (Retford Oaks), had a successful heart transplant at Harefield on his mother’s birthday just over three years ago. Entry sheets for the event are in the Pro Shop at the Club or call the professional on 01777 703733.
