Feast of Christmas music

by | 21 November 2019 | Music, Retford, Sherwood, Worksop

Celebrate the run up to Christmas in traditional style at a concert taking place in Worksop College’s magnificent chapel on Saturday 30th November. North Notts Chamber Choir and the College Chapel Choir will be accompanied throughout the evening by the Mountgarret Concert Orchestra under the direction of Timothy Uglow, Director of Music at Worksop College.

The first half will include the joyful ‘Magnificat’ by C.P.E. Bach, Mendelssohn’s ‘There shall a star from Jacob come forth’ and the exquisite ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ by Lauridsen. In the second half of the concert join the choirs and orchestra for popular Christmas favourites and sparkling audience carols.

Interval refreshments of mulled wine and mince pies, included in the ticket price, will be served in the historic Great Hall. Tickets are priced at £13.00 (£12.00 concessions, £6.50 children) and are available on the booking line 01909 537100 or by emailing enquiries@wsnl.co.uk.

This is, as always, a concert not to be missed and there is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit!
