Dial-a-Trip Tuxford

by | 15 November 2022 | Local Charity, Retford

Dial-a-Trip is a Community Car Scheme for Tuxford and the surrounding villages within Bassetlaw and parts of Newark and Sherwood. It helps those who are unable to access public transport and don’t have any other alternative.

After completing a registration form and paying a small annual fee, you will be able to book a car for your medical appointment or some social events. Trips also have a mileage charge which is payable to the driver. Being volunteers, your driver may not be the same one every time. Each booking would require at least 36 to 48 working hours’ notice.

Drivers will pick you up from home and drop you off as close to your destination as is possible. The usual waiting time is an hour for you to complete your business or appointment. Longer appointment times can be discussed with the administrator when you make your booking.

The drivers and the administrators are all volunteers. When the phone is unmanned, there is an answer phone where you can leave a message with details of your appointment along with your name, telephone number, date and time of your appointment.
