Dial-a-Trip Tuxford

Dial-a-Trip is a Community Car Scheme that operates using volunteers.

Are you wondering what you can do with some of your free time? Do you like to drive?

How about meeting new and interesting people?

Could you help someone in your community with their medical appointments or social events?

The scheme covers Tuxford and the surrounding areas, not just in Bassetlaw but also some parts of Newark and Sherwood district. It helps those who are unable to access public transport and don’t have any other alternative.

As a volunteer driver, if you are available, details for a trip will be sent to you. This will include where to pick the client up (usually their home), plus details of where they are going and what time they need to arrive. There is a waiting time, usually an hour, at the end of which the client is taken back home. Fuel is reimbursed on each trip.

Volunteer drivers already with the scheme say they find it really interesting and rewarding.

The scheme does not operate on weekends or Bank Holidays.
