Dial-a-Trip is a local community car scheme. The following is written by one of their drivers.
“I’m a Volunteer Driver for Dial a Trip Community Car Scheme. I take clients, who have difficulties with public or their own transport, from Bassetlaw and parts of Newark and Sherwood areas to GPs, hospitals, other appointments, or to social events or to visit relatives or friends in hospital. I’ve done it for a few years now and it’s great.
“After moving and leaving my job and looking for other work, I saw the advert for volunteering and after some time on my own in the house, I decided to give them a call.
“I take clients if I am able, and we don’t work evenings, weekends or Bank Holidays.
“Our clients say how grateful they are and what a great service we are offering them. We may be the only person some clients see that week. Our clients are great company for our drivers too.
“If you have some time you can spare, why not call us now as we really need new drivers.
“If you are interested, please don’t hesitate like I did.”
If you have some time to spare and feel like volunteering with Dial-a-Trip could be for you, call them on 01777 948384, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 12.30pm. They will be glad to hear from you.
