Cup O’ Joe at Headon Village Hall

Hot on the heels of Headon Village Hall’s hugely successful concert featuring the country’s number one folk artist, Martin Carthy, organisers now are concentrating their efforts on the next presentation. Cup o’ Joe, are a trio of brothers Reuben and Benjamin Agnew and their sister Tabitha Hailing from Armagh, Northern Ireland. Their music leans more towards Bluegrass with a mix of Jazz Old Time and Swing than that of their Homeland and they will perform at Headon Village Hall on Friday 25th August at 7.30pm.

Cop o’ Joe have played all over Europe and are the first non-US group to have been invited to play on the Youth Stage at IBMA in Raleigh, North Carolina. With Benjamin providing a hard driving baseline, Reuben exhibiting his mastery of his guitar both rhythmically and picking, and Tabitha who not only plays the banjo as well as you can hear anywhere, but also a mean fiddle — their enthusiastic and energetic performance will have the most reluctant foot tapping to their music.

Tickets cost £12 (£10 concessions) and are available from Dave Burton on 01777 248085 or jimsdad7@btinternet.com.
