Once again St Swithun’s Church, Cannon Square, Retford will be full of Christmas trees all decorated by businesses, shops, offices, schools and societies of the town for their 15th annual Christmas tree festival. There were 93 trees last year — will it be 100 this year? Visitors come from far and wide to see this spectacular event, and the church looks forward to welcoming new and regular visitors alike. It is a feel-good start to the Christmas period!
The festival will be open on Saturday 24th November from 10.00am to 6.00pm and on Sunday 25th November from 12.00pm to 7.00pm, then from Monday 26th November to Saturday 1st December, from 10.00am to 6.00pm daily.
Refreshments are being served every day; soup and roll, cakes, tea, coffee, mince pies and mulled wine. The Christmas Raffle will be drawn on Saturday 1st December at 6.00pm. First prize is £100, second prize is £50.00 and third prize is a Christmas hamper. Tickets, costing £1.00, will be on sale soon.
