Bassetlaw Bash

The Bassetlaw Bash — a challenge walk or run — will this year take place on Saturday 7th October, through the historic estates of Welbeck, Thoresby and Clumber Park. This is a great opportunity to experience our wonderful local countryside whilst raising funds for Bassetlaw Hospice.

Working in conjunction with the Vermuyden Group of Long Distance Walkers there are circular walks of six, 12, 20 and 26 miles starting at Lady Margaret Hall on the Welbeck Estate. The six-mile walk is by kind permission of the Welbeck family on parts of the estate not normally open to the public. The longer routes pass through Clumber and Thoresby estates on a variety of pathways with stunning views of the surrounding area.

Entry fees are £8 for the six and 12-mile walks and £12 for the 20 and 26-mile walks (half price for under 16s). Please note, entry on the day will incur a £2 extra charge. The entry fee includes refreshments at check in points on route and a traditional pie and pea meal served on completion. A certificate will be presented to all successful participants.

Entry forms and optional sponsorship forms to help raise additional funds for the charity are available from the Hospice Appeal Office (4 Jubilee Courtyard, Retford DN22 6BN) and charity shops. Alternatively, email Debbie@bassetlawhsopice.org or call 01777 710444.
