Balance, mobility and falls prevention

by | 4 October 2017 | Community Event, Notice, Retford

To support the national ‘Older People’s Day 2017’, on Friday 6th October, Sarah Cox from Fresh Physiotherapy, and Jo Pritchard and Patricia Richardson from Jo’s Neuro Physio Practice have teamed up in Retford to offer free physiotherapy assessments, education and advice to elderly residents with concerns about their balance and/or mobility.

This is part of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s national initiative to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people have made to our society, and to aim to reduce falls (and subsequent NHS expenses) with advice, education, and a recommendation of referral on to their local NHS physiotherapy falls team if appropriate.
Appointments are available at Jo’s Neuro Physio Practice in Chapelgate, Retford, between 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Appointments can be pre-booked, or clients can just drop-in on the day if they don’t mind waiting. The trained physiotherapists plan to assess each individual with recognised, validated outcome measures to determine their current risk of falls. They will provide advice and also have a range of educational materials from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy about exercise, falls prevention and staying steady available. Participants will be provided with a brief report which they can take to their General Practitioner. Hopefully, on the day participants will leave feeling more positive and confident.

Contact Jo on 07543 944938, or email jopritchard@neurophysiopractice.co.uk to book a free appointment.
