Pie, Peas and Performance

The next Pie, Peas and Performance will be from Andy White on Saturday 2nd November, from 7.00pm when the doors open, at St Saviour’s Community Centre, Lidget Lane, Retford. Andy is a Northern Irish singer/songwriter, poet and author, born in Belfast. He released his first EP, Religious Persuasion, in 1985 on Stiff Records, and debut album, Rave on Andy White, in 1986. Since then he has released 13 solo albums plus numerous compilations and live albums, and has collaborated with many other artists including Peter Gabriel, Sinéad O’Connor and English producer John Leckie. White won Ireland’s Hot Press Songwriter of the Year Award in 1993.

Tickets cost £12.50 and can be obtained from More Than Flowers, Retford or at www.wegottickets.com. You can take your own drinks and they will provide the pies and peas.

At the end of November, Mike Peters (The Alarm) — The Hurricane of Change Tour visits St Saviour’s Church on Saturday 30th November. Mike Peters — front man of The Alarm — brings his solo acoustic tour to a close in Retford! Drawing on albums Eye of The Hurricane and Change, this promises to be a very special night indeed as one of the country’s busiest artists shares some of his favourite songs in an intimate and ambient atmosphere. Many tickets are already sold so please buy in advance to secure your attendance.

Tickets are £20.00 each and can be obtained from More Than Flowers and at www.wegottickets.com. Food vouchers are £5.00 for high quality pork rolls from Westlands Farm Shop. Doors open at 7.00pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.
